Commercial Documentary Filmmaking | peopleCare Communities

Commercial Documentary Filmmaking for peopleCare Communities

Kitchener / Waterloo / Guelph Videographer

This documentary-style film was created for peopleCare Communities, a long-time client and a family-owned organization dedicated to building exceptional long-term care and retirement communities across Ontario. Their commitment to compassionate, person-centered care is evident in everything they do, and this project was a powerful example of that.

Filmed over the course of 1.5 years across multiple visits, this was a large-scale documentary filmmaking project focused on the implementation of the Butterfly Model within the Juniper specialized care home area for residents with dementia at peopleCare Oakcrossing LTC in London, Ontario. The Butterfly Model is an emotion-based approach to dementia care that prioritizes connection, environment, and overall well-being, while also transforming how staff engage with residents and with each other. Spending time with the residents and team throughout this journey was incredibly moving, and witnessing the transformation within the space was truly remarkable.

This film was created to thoughtfully document that evolution and share the impact of these changes through professional commercial videography and storytelling. Projects like this highlight the power of documentary video to communicate meaningful change, capture human connection, and bring important initiatives to life.

If you’re an organization in healthcare, community services, or corporate sectors looking for documentary filmmaking, commercial videography, or video production in Kitchener, Waterloo, or across Ontario, I’d love to connect. Whether your project unfolds over a single day or many months, I can help you tell your story with care and intention. Reach out to discuss your next video project.

This highlight video was created for Communitech’s 2026 International Women’s Day event – a celebration of innovation, leadership, and community within the vibrant Waterloo Region tech ecosystem. Communitech is a foundational pillar of the Kitchener-Waterloo tech space, and this event brought together a successful group of women to share their stories and experiences, and inspire the next generation of tech leaders.

This event featured a dynamic mix of guest speakers and networking, and even a talented painter creating work in real time! This was all set against the backdrop of a friendly, lively, and welcoming atmosphere (with great food, too!). The goal of this video was to capture the energy of the day and create a compelling event highlight video that Communitech could use across social media and promotional channels.

If you’re hosting an event and need professional event videography in Kitchener, Waterloo, or across Ontario, I’d love to help you tell that story. Whether it’s a conference, corporate event, or community gathering, we can create engaging highlight videos designed to showcase your event and extend its impact. Trade Magazine Cover Photography | Kitchener GTA

Trade Magazine Cover Photography | Kitchener, GTA

For this third cover feature for Hardlines Magazine, I travelled to Woodstock, Ontario, to photograph Jamie Adams and Tasha Birtch, the husband-and-wife team behind Adams Building Supply. Jamie and Tasha were recognized as the winners of last fall’s Pro Dealer of the Year award at the Outstanding Retailer Awards. A well-deserved honour for a business they’ve built and grown together over the years! In 2023, they moved into an impressive custom-built facility that reflects both the scale and success of their operation. Photographing them within their new space added an extra layer of context and pride to the images featured in the magazine.

Jamie and Tasha were incredibly warm and welcoming, and it was a pleasure creating the portraits that accompanied this cover story. Editorial assignments like these are always some of my favourite projects!

If you’re an editor, publisher, or trade magazine looking for professional editorial photography, magazine cover photography, or corporate portrait photography in Ontario, I’d love to help bring the vision of your upcoming publication to life. Feel free to reach out and I would be happy to discuss how we can work together.

These images were created for Waxonomy, an aesthetics clinic in Waterloo owned by Laurie Hannoush, as part of their ongoing branding and promotional photography. Waxonomy is known for expert waxing and skincare services, and this photography series focuses on elevated beauty and portrait photography designed for brand identity, marketing campaigns, and Waxonomy’s social media and digital promotion.

Clean lighting and refined styling were key to creating imagery that feels polished and aligned with Waxonomy’s high standards.

I’ve worked with Laurie and the Waxonomy team on multiple projects over the years and always enjoy collaborating with clients who value thoughtful visual branding.

If I could give her more than 5 stars, I definitely would! Ema recently did some branding shots for the waxing company I work for and she was AMAZING to deal with from start to finish! She was so patient with us, and the entire team loved her. If you want a photographer that is passionate, kind, and willing to go above and beyond for her clients, choose Ema!

These commercial interiors photographs feature completed projects for Atkar North America and Archmill House, two Ontario-based leaders in architectural interiors and specialty millwork. Both companies collaborate on the renovation and construction of commercial and community spaces, combining custom architectural millwork with high-quality decorative and acoustic panel systems to create environments that are both functional and visually striking.

Featured here are two completed projects in Burlington, Ontario: Robert Bateman Community Centre and Skyway Community Centre. These spaces are great examples of how thoughtful architectural design can elevate public environments such as libraries, schools, and community centres. Over the past year, I’ve had the opportunity to photograph multiple Atkar and Archmill projects in Ontario, documenting both new builds and renovated commercial interiors for their project portfolios.

As a commercial interiors photographer in Ontario, my focus is on capturing the craftsmanship, scale, and design intent behind architectural and millwork projects. I love highlighting how spaces function and how design enhances the experience of the people who use them. It’s always rewarding to photograph work that contributes meaningfully to community spaces.

If you’re an architectural firm, millwork company, construction company, or commercial interiors brand looking to document completed projects for your website, proposals, or marketing materials, I’d love to connect. This gallery features branding photos created for Suman Kaur, a mind-body coach who wanted a set of fun, fresh images to reflect both her work and her personality. I loved learning about Suman’s journey into coaching and how her relationship with movement evolved into the work she offers today.

Suman’s approach blends strength training, mindful conditioning, nervous system supportive movement, and wellness coaching. Her approach is grounded in science, her lived experience, and genuine care for her clients. Her goal is to support women who are ready to move towards a sustainable, aligned way of caring for their health and well-being.

I had a genuinely fun time working with Suman – lots of laughs as we created together!

For business owners, coaches, and wellness professionals, strong branding photos are an essential part of building trust and connection. Working with Bobbi-Jo Marlatt is always such a pleasure. We first met during a photoshoot for her employer, Demant, and since then I’ve had the privilege of photographing her several times for various professional milestones. Watching her career evolve has been incredibly inspiring. Her most recent achievement – publishing a book – made this latest branding and headshot session extra special.

Bobbi-Jo is a force in the hearing care field! Plural Publishing describes her as a passionate Hearing Instrument Specialist who’s worn hearing aids since childhood, holds multiple advanced degrees, has helped design the Hearing Instrument Specialist Program at Humber Polytechnic, and is now completing her PhD at the University of Western Ontario where she is studying motivational interviewing in hearing care. Her dedication to improving patient-provider communication shines through everything she does.

These new photos were created to support her growing list of accomplishments and projects. As always, it was wonderful capturing her confidence, professionalism, and lovely personality!

If your organization or personal brand needs fresh, polished imagery that reflects who you are and what you do, I’d love to help.

Promotional Branding Videography | PPBSO

Promotional Branding Videography | PPBSO

Kitchener / Waterloo / Guelph Videographer

I had the opportunity to create a video for the Pipers and Pipe Band Society of Ontario, and wow, what an incredible experience. The PPBSO reached out looking for a way to highlight the exceptionally talented youth in their organization, many of whom play the bagpipes and drums at a level that left me genuinely amazed.

We spent the day filming at the Fergus Scottish Festival, an energetic celebration of Scottish culture filled with live music, a highland games competition, incredible food, friendly crowds, and tons of vibrant colour. It was the perfect backdrop to capture these young musicians doing what they do best. Some of them were so young yet carried themselves with professionalism, confidence, and pure passion for their craft.

I absolutely loved working with the PPBSO team and all the performers who made this such a memorable project. Their enthusiasm made this project extra fun, and I’m thrilled to help them inspire even more youth to get involved.

If your organization is looking to create a video that captures talent, community, and energy, I’d love to help tell your story.

Branding Videography Kitchener | Rae Ostrander for Authority Magazine

Branding Videography Kitchener | Rae Ostrander for Authority Magazine

Kitchener / Waterloo / Guelph Videographer

I’m excited to share a video I created for Rae Ostrander, CFO of Contrast Asset Management, as part of his recent feature in Medium’s Authority Magazine. In the interview and this video, Rae reflects on “5 Things I Learned While Building a Life I Don’t Want to Escape From,” offering an honest look at the experiences and tools that have shaped his personal and professional life.

Rae has built his real estate investment career on strategic thinking, operational insight, and an ability to turn undervalued assets into strong, yield-centered opportunities.

What makes this video special is Rae’s willingness to share the deeper side of his journey, including his recovery from alcohol at age nineteen and the practices that have helped him create a fulfilling life and successful business. It’s a thoughtful and grounded look at leadership, resilience, and purpose.

I’m grateful to have been trusted to help share Rae’s story. If you’re looking to highlight your own leadership team or capture meaningful brand narratives, I’d love to help you bring them to life.
